At Hiram Animal Hospital, our doctors and staff believe that all pets deserve to live a healthy and happy life. For this reason, we're dedicated to providing pocket pets with the same high-level of care we provide to dogs and cats.
Our doctors are trained to provide care for rats, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, and other small rodents such as mice, gerbils, and hamsters.
The first step to keeping your pocket pet healthy is by scheduling routine wellness visits. At Hiram Animal Hospital, we recommend bringing your pocket pet in once or twice a year, depending on their age and health status.
At these visits, your veterinarian is trained to assess the overall health and wellbeing of your pet. We'll check your pet's skin and coat, eyes, ears, mouth, and abdominal region. If we notice anything of concern, we may recommend diagnostic tests to ensure your pet is safe.
If your pet is feeling under the weather or you notice a sudden change in their behavior or temperament, please call us to schedule a sick visit right away.
Client education is a key component of the pocket pet care services we provide at Hiram Animal Hospital. Please feel encouraged to ask us any questions you may have! These animals are unique, and we are here to help you be the best and most prepared pet owner.
